Dry lining is the term usually used to describe the use of (typically) plasterboard on timber or metal frames.
It can also be used as an alternative to brick or block/traditional lath and plaster by finishing block work walls on plaster dabs.
Although generally accepted as the method of internal fit out for buildings it is used instead of sand/cement or wet plaster finishes to internal walls.
One of its main advantages is the speed of installation. Its flexibility allows for more freedom in designing and changing internals shape of a property.
It gives a number of options in relation to insulation materials which may not be available when using conventional methods of build. |
